Miami in November 2026: Weather, Events and the Best Top-Down Days
Ask anyone who lives here and they'll tell you the same thing. Summer is for the tourists who don't know better. November is for us.
The heavy, sticky air finally lifts. The afternoon storms fade out. The light turns gold and soft by late afternoon, and suddenly you can leave the top down from lunch until the sun drops behind the skyline. If you've ever wanted to see Miami the way locals do, this is the month.
Here's our friend-in-Miami guide to Miami in November 2026: the real weather numbers, the event dates worth building a trip around, and three top-down drives timed for golden hour.

Miami in November: The Weather, by the Numbers
No vague "sunny and warm" promises here. These are the National Weather Service's 1991–2020 normals for Miami International Airport.
Highs: ease from 83°F on November 1 to 80°F by November 30.
Lows: drop from 71°F to 66°F over the month.
Rain: 3.53 inches for the month on average, far less than the summer months.
That's the sweet spot for a convertible. Warm enough for short sleeves at noon, cool enough that the leather doesn't scorch, and dry enough that you can plan a full day outdoors without watching the radar.
Why the change? November marks the start of South Florida's dry season. The humidity drops, the daily thunderstorm pattern of summer winds down, and the Atlantic hurricane season officially ends on November 30.
Golden hour comes early
One big change to plan around: daylight saving time ends on Sunday, November 1, 2026, and sunsets jump an hour earlier overnight. According to the U.S. Naval Observatory, Miami's sunset is about 5:39 PM on November 1 and about 5:29 PM by November 30.
That means golden hour, the light that makes every photo look like a postcard, lands around 4:45 to 5:30 PM. Plan your drive to be on the water by then, not still looking for parking.
November is when Miami gives back. Highs around 80, the dry season kicks in and the top stays down from lunch to sunset.
The 2026 Event Calendar Worth Planning Around
November is also when Miami's calendar fills up. These are the dates we'd circle, all checked against official sources.

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: October 28 to November 1
The season opener for anyone who loves boats, and one of the biggest boat shows in the world. The 2026 show runs from Wednesday, October 28, to Sunday, November 1, at venues across Fort Lauderdale. It's an easy drive north from Miami, and our FLL pickup puts you right in the middle of it.
Beach Polo World Cup: November 13 to 15
Polo on the sand, right on Miami Beach. The World Polo League's Beach Polo World Cup takes over Collins Park, at 21st and 22nd Streets and Collins Avenue, from November 13 to 15, 2026, with matches, social events and a very Miami Beach crowd. Our Miami Beach HQ is a short drive away.
Vintage Auto Show at the Deering Estate: Sunday, November 15
If you love cars, this one's for you. The Deering Estate's 14th Annual Vintage Auto Show is on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 10 AM to 3 PM, with cars from 1965 and older displayed on the estate's historic grounds by Biscayne Bay. Pair it with drive number two below.
Miami Book Fair: November 15 to 22
The 41st Miami Book Fair runs November 15 to 22, 2026, at Miami Dade College's Wolfson Campus in Downtown Miami, according to the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. The week opens with a block party and free concert and closes with a weekend street fair packed with authors, food and books. Check the fair's official site for 2026 street-fair days and hours before you go.
Thanksgiving: Thursday, November 26
Thanksgiving weekend is one of the busiest travel windows of the year in South Florida. If you're planning a long weekend in the sun, book your car early.
Miami Art Week starts November 30
Miami Art Week runs from November 30 to December 6, 2026, with Art Basel Miami Beach itself on December 4 to 6. It's the busiest week of the year for the city, so if your trip overlaps, lock in everything, including your convertible, well ahead.
Three Top-Down Drives for November Golden Hour
This is the part we love most. Three drives, each built around that early, golden November light.
Drive 1: The Rickenbacker to Key Biscayne, from Brickell
Pick up in Brickell, head south and turn onto the Rickenbacker Causeway. Within minutes the city falls away behind you and Biscayne Bay opens up on both sides. Cross Virginia Key, keep going to Key Biscayne, and time your return so you're heading back toward the skyline as the sun goes down. The towers of Brickell light up gold against the water, and it's one of the best views in Miami.
The Rickenbacker is a toll causeway, and your car's SunPass handles it automatically. Most guests prepay SunPass when they book, so there's nothing to settle later.
The car we'd pick: the Mustang Convertible. One-touch top, four seats and unlimited miles for as many laps as you want. Just cruising the city? Ask about our seasonal limited-mileage Mustang rate, up to 100 miles a day for less.
Time your return so you're heading back toward the skyline as the sun goes down. That's the photo.
Drive 2: Old Cutler Road under the trees
Old Cutler Road is one of Miami's prettiest drives, a winding two-lane road shaded by a canopy of old trees that runs south through Coral Gables toward Palmetto Bay. In November, with soft light filtering through the branches, it feels like a different city.
Make a day of it on November 15: drive Old Cutler in the late morning, spend a few hours at the Vintage Auto Show at the Deering Estate, and cruise home as the afternoon light softens.
The car we'd pick: the Jeep Sahara. One-touch power top, leather seats and integrated GPS make it an easy, comfortable cruiser for a slower, scenic day.
Drive 3: A1A north to Fort Lauderdale
Start at our Miami Beach HQ and follow A1A north along the coast. You'll roll past the hotels of Mid-Beach, through Surfside and Bal Harbour, past Sunny Isles and on into Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale, with the ocean flashing between the buildings the whole way. Stop at the beach in Fort Lauderdale for sunset, then take your time coming home.
If you're in town for the boat show's final day on November 1, this is the drive to pair with it.
The car we'd pick: the Mustang GT Convertible, if you're 25 or older and want the soundtrack to match the coastline. Its 150 miles per day is plenty for this run; extra miles are charged at $1 to $4 each depending on rental length.
Tips for Driving Miami in November Like a Local
Bring a light jacket. Evenings in late November can dip into the upper 60s, and with the top down that feels cooler than it sounds.
Sunscreen, always. It may be November, but the Miami sun is still strong at midday.
Shoot early, not late. With sunset around 5:30 PM, the best light comes earlier than you expect.
Plan around the big weekends. Book Fair, beach polo and Thanksgiving all bring traffic and full parking lots. Give yourself extra time.
Use the right pickup. Five pickup locations mean you can start where your plans do: MIA or FLL airports, Miami Beach HQ, Downtown / Port of Miami, or Brickell for the Rickenbacker drive.
Know the cars. Our fleet page lists seats, mileage and minimum age for every model, and our FAQ page covers deposits, SunPass and cancellations.
Why November Is Our Favorite Month to Hand Over the Keys
We've been doing this since 2012, and November is when we get to see Miami at its most generous. Guests come back sun-kissed and grinning. Locals book a Saturday just because the weather is too good to waste. Couples celebrate anniversaries on the causeway at golden hour.
That's what this month is for. Not a sedan with the windows up. A convertible, the top down, and a city that finally cooled off just enough to enjoy every mile of it.
