Unlimited Mileage Convertible Rental in Miami: How Miles, Tolls and Deposits Really Work
You've picked the car. You can already feel the sun on the MacArthur Causeway and hear the palms rattle along A1A. Then a small, practical voice asks: how far can I actually drive this thing, and what happens with tolls?
Good questions. They're the ones we answer every single day, so here is everything in one place, model by model, with no fine print hiding anywhere. Because the only surprise on a Miami road trip should be how good the sunset looks from the Rickenbacker. Lets talk about the ins and outs of the unlimited mileage convertible rental in Miami.

The short version: which cars come with unlimited miles
Here's the quick map before we get into the details.
Unlimited miles on the standard rate (excluding limited mileage rates offered in select seasons):
Mustang Convertible (4 seats, 21+, one-touch power soft top)
Jeep Wrangler, including the Doorless Jeep outside the rainy season (5 seats, 21+, manual soft top)
Jeep Sahara (5 seats, 23+, one-touch power top, leather seats, integrated GPS)
150 miles per day included:
Mustang GT Convertible (4 seats, 25+)
Corvette C8 Convertible (2 seats, 28+, one-touch power hardtop)
Porsche Boxster (2 seats, 25+)
That's it. No mystery tiers, no "it depends on the counter agent." Whatever you book, the rules are the same at all five of our pickup points: Miami Beach, Downtown / Port of Miami, Brickell, MIA and FLL.
The only surprise on a Miami road trip should be how good the sunset looks.

Unlimited mileage convertible rental in Miami: the Mustang Convertible
The Mustang Convertible is the car most of our guests dream about, and it's the backbone of the largest Mustang convertible fleet in Florida. Its standard rate includes unlimited miles. Drive to Key West and back. Head across the state to Naples for a Gulf Coast sunset. Loop Ocean Drive ten times because the song on the radio deserves it. The odometer is your business.
The Overseas Highway alone is 113 miles long and crosses 42 bridges before it reaches Key West, so a Miami to Key West round trip easily runs past 300 miles. On an unlimited-mileage Mustang, that's simply a great day.
The 100-mile Mustang rate (select seasons)
Here's something a lot of guests don't know about. In select seasons, especially the low season, we also offer a limited-mileage Mustang Convertible rate. It's built for the guest who just wants to enjoy Miami in style: cruise to lunch in Coconut Grove, glide over to dinner in South Beach, catch golden hour on the causeway, and never go near the Turnpike.
The deal is simple. Drive up to 100 miles per day and enjoy the savings.
And if your plans change and you go over? Whether it's 1 mile or 100 miles, we simply charge the difference between the limited-mileage rate and the unlimited-mileage rate. That's the whole penalty. You never pay more than you would have paid if you had booked unlimited miles from the start.
A few things to know:
This rate is for the Mustang Convertible only. It isn't offered on any other model.
It's available in select seasons, so ask our team when you book whether it's running for your dates.
If you're planning the Keys, Orlando or a long Gulf Coast loop, the standard unlimited-mileage rate is the easy choice.
Drive up to 100 miles per day and enjoy the savings. Go over, and you simply pay the difference to unlimited. That's it.
The 150-mile cars: Mustang GT, Corvette C8 and Porsche Boxster
Our three performance cars each include 150 miles per day. For most Miami days, that's plenty. A morning on Key Biscayne, lunch in Wynwood, a sunset run up A1A and dinner in Brickell usually adds up to far less.
Your allowance is calculated across the whole rental: 150 miles multiplied by the number of rental days. A 7-day rental includes 1,050 miles in total, and you can spread them however you like. Drive 40 miles on Tuesday and 250 on Saturday. It all comes out of the same bucket.
What extra miles cost
If you go past your total allowance, additional miles are charged at $1 to $4 per mile, depending on the length of the rental:
1-day rentals: $4 per additional mile, even if it's only 1 mile over.
7-day rentals: $1 per mile over the total allowance of 1,050 miles (150 miles x 7 days).
2 to 6 day rentals: between $1 and $4 per mile depending on rental length. Ask us when you book and we'll tell you exactly.
Here's what that looks like in real life. Say you rent a Corvette C8 for one day and drive 170 miles. That's 20 miles over the 150-mile allowance, so 20 x $4 = $80. Rent a Mustang GT for a week, drive 1,100 miles, and you're 50 miles over: 50 x $1 = $50.
How to plan around the 150-mile allowance
Some easy rules of thumb from our team:
Staying local? Miami Beach, Brickell, Wynwood, Coconut Grove and Key Biscayne are all close together. You'll rarely get near 150 miles in a day.
Doing the Keys? A Key West round trip is well over 300 miles. On a one-day GT, Corvette or Boxster rental, that means paying for extra miles. On a longer rental, your weekly allowance absorbs it more easily. Or take the Mustang Convertible with unlimited miles.
Want the V8 and the long drive? A multi-day Mustang GT rental gives you the sound and the mileage bank to go with it.
SunPass and tolls: how it works
Miami runs on toll roads, and many of them are cashless. Every one of our cars is set up for tolls, so you never have to stop, fumble for change or work out a pay-by-plate bill weeks after you fly home.
Here's exactly how it works:
You pay the actual tolls you use. Nothing is marked up.
Plus a $5 per day service fee, capped at $15. The cap applies to the service fee only, not the tolls themselves.
Both are billed automatically.
Our tip: most guests choose to prepay SunPass when they book. That way there's nothing to settle after the trip and nothing deducted from your security deposit. You just drive.
One of our guests, a Local Guide visiting from the UK, put it perfectly in his Google Review: "Pay for the [SunPass], it's worth it as every road in Miami seems to be a toll."
If you're curious how the system works statewide, the official SunPass site explains Florida's prepaid toll program.
Deposits, model by model
Every rental has a refundable security deposit. Here is what to expect:
Mustang Convertible: $300
Jeep Wrangler: $300
Jeep Sahara: $500
Porsche Boxster: $500
Mustang GT: $1,000
Corvette C8: $1,500
We release security deposits the same day the car comes back. A couple of payment notes: renters from the US and Canada need a major credit card, while most European guests can use a debit card. If you plan to use your credit card's collision damage waiver, bring proof of coverage and we'll accept it.
Changing plans, cancelling and no-shows
Life happens, so here's the fine print in large type:
Cancellations within 48 hours of pickup carry a fee of roughly 10%, which covers bank charges.
The same 48-hour rule applies to date changes and car changes.
No-shows are charged the full rental. We hold your car for 2 hours past your pickup time.
Under a declared state of emergency, you get a full refund.
Our phones are answered by real people from 7:30 AM to 3 PM, every day, at (305) 799-7892.
Why we do it this way
Leo started Miami Convertibles in 2012 after years behind a corporate rental counter, telling excited travelers their Mustang "wasn't available." He built this company around a simple promise: the car you book is the car you get. Model guaranteed · color based on availability.
Clear mileage rules are part of that same promise. You should know exactly what your trip costs before you land, whether you're crossing the Seven Mile Bridge or just looping Collins Avenue with the top down. No counter surprises. No mystery charges. Just the keys and the open road.
You should know exactly what your trip costs before you land. That's the whole idea.
Pick your car, then pick your miles
A quick way to choose:
Long road trips (Keys, Gulf Coast, Orlando): Mustang Convertible, Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Sahara with unlimited miles.
