Miami Events at the End of September 2026: Your Top-Down Guide to the Final Week
September in Miami gets a bad rap. Hot, sticky, stormy, quiet. And sure, some of that is true. But the final week of September 2026 is quietly stacked: a football doubleheader at Hard Rock Stadium, two big nights at Kaseya Center, the last weekend of a giant inflatable art show in Wynwood, the final September menus of Miami Spice, and a Broadway premiere with Havana in its heart.

Here are the Miami events at the end of September worth planning around, day by day, with the drive and the car we'd pick for each. One friendly reminder before we start: event times and lineups can change, so confirm with the venue before you head out.
Miami Events at the End of September, Day by Day

Thursday, September 24: Ease Into the Weekend
Start slow. Pick up your car, drop the top, and cruise Ocean Drive in the early evening when the Art Deco neon starts to glow. Then book a Miami Spice dinner (this is one of the last weeknights for the September menus) and let the weekend build from there. If you're a Hurricanes family, UM's Family Weekend kicks off today too, so Coral Gables will start filling up.
Friday, September 25: Ballgame or Kaseya
Two good options, both near downtown. The Marlins host the Braves at loanDepot park at 7:10 PM, a relaxed way to start the weekend. Or head to Kaseya Center, where Haitian konpa star Arly Larivière takes the stage at 8 PM.
The drive we'd pick: leave Miami Beach before sunset and take the MacArthur Causeway west, with the cruise ships on your left and the skyline filling the windshield. Top down on the way in; if the sky looks moody after the show, the Mustang Convertible's one-touch top closes in seconds.
Saturday, September 26: A Very Full Saturday
This is the big one. The Marlins and Braves play again at 4:10 PM. The Miami Hurricanes host Central Michigan at Hard Rock Stadium at 6:30 PM, on the same weekend as the University of Miami's Family Weekend (September 24–27), so expect Coral Gables and the stadium to be busy with Canes families. And downtown, K-pop group aespa brings its tour to Kaseya Center.
It's also the last weekend to catch Pop Air, the Balloon Museum's giant inflatable art exhibition at Mana Wynwood, which runs through September 27. Go early, then wander Wynwood's murals while the light is soft.
The car we'd pick: the Jeep Sahara for a group day. Room for five, leather seats, a one-touch power top, and integrated GPS for hopping between Wynwood, Coral Gables and the stadium without fumbling for your phone.
The last week of September is Miami's best-kept secret: big nights, easy roads, and the city still feels like it's yours.
Sunday, September 27: Game Day in Miami Gardens
The Dolphins host the Chiefs at Hard Rock Stadium at 1 PM, their home opener, which makes it the biggest crowd of the week. If you're going, go early, check the stadium's official parking information before you leave, and pack sunscreen and water for the lot.
Not a football fan? Sunday morning is the quietest time of the week to drive the Rickenbacker Causeway to Key Biscayne. Most of the city is either at brunch or getting ready for kickoff, so the causeway, the water and the skyline in your mirror are basically all yours.
Tuesday–Wednesday, September 29–30: Havana Comes to Biscayne Boulevard
Buena Vista Social Club, the Tony and GRAMMY-winning musical inspired by the legendary Cuban album, opens its South Florida premiere at the Adrienne Arsht Center on September 29. It runs through October 4 and kicks off the 2026–27 Broadway in Miami season. Weeknight shows start at 7:30 PM.
Our pick for the day: drive to Little Havana in the late afternoon, walk Calle Ocho, have a cafecito, then head up to the Arsht for the show. It's the most Miami double feature we can think of, and it lands right in the middle of Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs through October 15.
September 30 is also the last day of September Miami Spice menus (more on that below).
All Week: Miami Spice's Final September Stretch
Miami Spice runs its September menus right up to September 30, with three-course menus at $40 for lunch and brunch and $50 or $65 for dinner. Good news if you miss them: for the first time in its 25-year history, the program has been extended through October 31. The catch is that not every restaurant continues into October, and the October list only goes live on October 1. If there's a spot on your list, book it this week.
Check participating restaurants on the official Miami Spice page, then use our Miami Spice guide to pair dinner with a drive. We'd pick a sunset cruise down to Coral Gables, then a long dinner with the top closed and the valet ticket in hand.
Book the Spice dinner this week. Drive there with the top down. Let the car be part of the night.
Heads Up: King Tides, September 26–30
Here's the local tip that matters this weekend. The City of Miami Beach lists September 26–30 as one of 2026's king tide windows. That's when seasonal high tides can push seawater onto low-lying streets, even on dry, sunny days. The city notes water can stay noticeably high for about 1.5 to 2 hours on either side of peak high tide.
What that means for your drive: check the tide times each morning on the city's Rising Above king tides page, plan bayside errands away from the peak, and never drive through standing water. Saltwater and cars don't mix. If you're picking up from our Miami Beach HQ this weekend, give yourself a few extra minutes.
What's the Weather Like at the End of September?
Warm and humid, with a real chance of an afternoon storm. NOAA's normals put Miami's September average high around 89°F and the low around 77°F, and September is one of the wettest months of the year. It's also close to the statistical peak of hurricane season, so keep an eye on the National Hurricane Center's forecast in the days before you travel.
The good news for convertible drivers: storms here tend to be short. Our rhythm for this week is simple. Top down in the morning and after about 5 PM, top up (or parked in the shade) during the hottest, stormiest hours. And if a state of emergency is ever declared, you get a full refund. That's covered on our FAQ page.
One honest note: our Doorless Jeeps sit out the rainy season, so this week the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Sahara are your Jeep options.
If the sky opens up
Keep a rain plan in your pocket. Pop Air at Mana Wynwood is indoors (and it's the last weekend), the Pérez Art Museum Miami sits right on the bay in Maurice A. Ferré Park, with Frost Science next door, and a long Miami Spice lunch is never a bad way to wait out a storm. Twenty minutes later, the sun's usually back and the streets are steaming. Drop the top and go.
Which Convertible Should You Book This Week?
• Game day with friends: Mustang Convertible. Four seats, unlimited miles, one-touch power top, and drivers 21+.
• Concert date night: Corvette C8. Two seats, a one-touch power hardtop, and the arrival you'll remember (drivers 28+, 150 miles per day).
• The group day around Wynwood and Coral Gables: Jeep Sahara. Room for five, leather, integrated GPS, and a one-touch power top (drivers 23+).
• The Havana double feature: Mustang GT. A little more rumble for Calle Ocho (drivers 25+, 150 miles per day).
Whatever you pick, the model you book is the model you drive. Color is based on availability. Tolls are simple too: SunPass is billed automatically at $5 a day, capped at $15. Pick up at our Miami Beach HQ, Downtown / Port of Miami, MIA or FLL, and compare every car on our fleet page.
Staying into next month? Our Miami in October guide covers the Miami Spice bonus month, stone crab season, October king tides and more.
MAKE THE LAST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER COUNT. Pick the model, pick your dates, and we'll have it ready. No lines, no surprises, just the convertible you actually booked. Model guaranteed · color based on availability. |
